Archive I is 150 pieces, a number taken from anthropologist Robin Dunbar, who found that most people can only keep about 150 meaningful relationships. The edition is sized to a circle that small.

Your first purchase makes you a Founding Owner:

  • Your number. Engraved on your piece, and never given to anyone else.
  • Your place in The Register. The permanent record of Archive I’s first owners, shown with your name or your number alone.
  • First access. See and access every future Numbered Edition before the public. Some pieces will be offered only to Founding Owners.
  • A title that stays yours. If your piece changes hands, your place and your access don’t.

Once Archive I closes, no one can become a Founding Owner, at any price.

How numbers work

Your Founding Owner number is yours, not your piece’s. Numbers are given in the order people buy.

Henry Francis holds No. 001, having kept the first of each design. The first buyer after us becomes No. 002, the next No. 003, and so on.

Your number is engraved on every Archive I piece you own, so a second piece carries the same number.

Numbers can’t be chosen, reserved or bought. The earlier you arrive, the lower yours will be.

DHL Express shipping, fully insured, at no cost to you. A signature is needed on delivery, so it’s only ever handed to a person.

Duties and taxes are shown at checkout. Nothing to pay on delivery.

THE STORY

The ancient Persians believed the sky was blue because of a sapphire.

The earth rested on it, the story goes, and its color reflected upward and turned the heavens blue.

It’s a myth. But people have looked at this stone and seen the sky for a very long time.

No two natural sapphires hold the same blue. Some lean violet. Some lean green. Some are too dark to show their color indoors.

This bracelet needed twenty-six that agree. Each one was held against the first for color, then shape, then depth. A stone that was beautiful on its own, but a shade away, was set aside.

Each oval sits sideways, circled by diamonds in 18k gold. The clasp hides underneath. So the blue runs all the way round your wrist.

This is Archive I. 150 pieces, made once. When the edition closes, the design is never made again.

Your Founding Owner number is engraved on the bracelet. It follows the order you bought in, and it’s entered in The Register. Someone may wear it after you. They can never be its first owner.

The Persians saw the sky in one sapphire. You’ll wear twenty-six.
