Archive I is 150 pieces, a number taken from anthropologist Robin Dunbar, who found that most people can only keep about 150 meaningful relationships. The edition is sized to a circle that small.

Your first purchase makes you a Founding Owner:

  • Your number. Engraved on your piece, and never given to anyone else.
  • Your place in The Register. The permanent record of Archive I’s first owners, shown with your name or your number alone.
  • First access. See and access every future Numbered Edition before the public. Some pieces will be offered only to Founding Owners.
  • A title that stays yours. If your piece changes hands, your place and your access don’t.

Once Archive I closes, no one can become a Founding Owner, at any price.

How numbers work

Your Founding Owner number is yours, not your piece’s. Numbers are given in the order people buy.

Henry Francis holds No. 001, having kept the first of each design. The first buyer after us becomes No. 002, the next No. 003, and so on.

Your number is engraved on every Archive I piece you own, so a second piece carries the same number.

Numbers can’t be chosen, reserved or bought. The earlier you arrive, the lower yours will be.

DHL Express shipping, fully insured, at no cost to you. A signature is needed on delivery, so it’s only ever handed to a person.

Duties and taxes are shown at checkout. Nothing to pay on delivery.

THE STORY

Sapphire and ruby are the same stone. Only the color changes the name.

Both are corundum. When it’s red, it’s a ruby. Every other color is a sapphire.

The blue comes from traces of iron and titanium. No two stones hold exactly the same amount, so no two are exactly the same blue.

In most jewelry, that doesn’t matter. In a pair of earrings, it does. Anyone facing you sees both at once, and the eye compares them.

So these two sapphires were chosen together, as a pair, before anything was made. Each sits in a halo of diamonds, framed in eight sides of 18k gold. They match.

This is Archive I. 150 pieces, made once. When the edition closes, the design is never made again.

Your pair is engraved with your Founding Owner number. It follows the order you bought in, and it’s entered in The Register. Someone may wear them after you. They can never be their first owner.

Two stones. One blue. No other pair like them.
